Just select the cities, regions, or even whole countries you want to download, and it will be available for offline use, complete with information on thousands of POIs (Points of Interest), travel guides and Wikipedia articles.
To do this we utilize community driven open data from a number of amazing projects. We use some magik to compress and package it in a format optimized for mobile devices. Pocket Earth then renders its beautiful vector maps on your device using our OpenGL ES based MagikMap technology.

Don’t forget this:
1. Using the GPS features of this app can significantly affect battery life. Only leave GPS enabled when you need to use it. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Pocket Earth only uses GPS in the background for route navigation and gps track recording features.
2. This app uses data from the amazing community driven open mapping project called openstreetmap.org! Coverage detail may vary by region, please visit our website to check the map detail for your regions of interest.
3. Does not currently support all asian texts on the map (Chinese, Japanese, etc).

One of the best apps I have !!
You can download a whole country for offline use, and the file size is much smaller than some competitors. The level of details is extremely good. Alone standing trees, benches to sit on, bus routes, paths in a forest, street names, places to eat, house numbers, wiki-info etc are just some random examples of all the useful info you find here!!

A fantastic app for a traveller. Easy to use and loads of helpful information. The reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is the accuracy of the GPS position on the map. Sometimes the location on the map isn't correct, to restart it usually does the trick for me.

Super convinient
With this app I have both worldwide maps and all of wikitravel, (plus some of wikipedia), offline when I am traveling.
The rendering of the maps maybe could be a bit better (far from google maps), but all in all the perfect map for travels.

Nyligen skaffat denna app inför semesterresa. Använder inte 3g utomlands och denna har fungerat utmärkt för mig, en av mina bästa appar!
Detaljerad karta och välfungerande GPS-funktion. Kartor, rutter och POI går att ladda ner innan. Lätt att hitta intressanta platser via sökfunktionen, lätt att navigera efter. Gör man detta innan resan ser man vad som är intressant i ett visst område. Det har alltså fungerat som tänkt för mig att hitta de smultronställen jag hört talas om:)
Ibland vill man skapa en rutt på plats för att bl.a. se avstånd, skapandet kräver dock internet så det får göras hemma eller på hotellets wifi-nät för att sedan användas offline - om man inte vill använda 3g. Bra och snabb support!
