Speed Box is a Speedometer and GPS app for both your iPhone and iPad. It displays your current speed, distance, direction and altitude along with your top speed and average speed. The app also keeps a record of the speed and altitude for the last few hours.

SpeedBox was one of the very early Speedometer Apps for the iPhone. Take advantage of my experience and the refined algorithms that can get a much greater accuracy from the iPhone then a lot of other apps. I regularly update my application to make it even more accurate and usable.
Users have already used our application to verify the accuracy of their car's speedometer or they tried measuring the speed they achieved while skiing. Can you come up with more ideas? How about measuring the speed of the airplane you travel with?
USAGE NOTES
========================
The "GPS strength" indicator in the top left corner should display a green dot. You can tap this indicator to display the current GPS accuracy.
Please allow the application up to a minute to find enough satellites to work correctly.
If you get a message to enable GSP, please go to ”Settings > General > Location Services“ on your iPhone and check if the little switch is set to "On" for Speed Box as well as for "Location Services" in general.
ATTENTION iPod touch users! Unfortunately this app doesn't work very well on the iPod touch and the iPad WiFI (without 3G) since these devices are missing a GPS!

Please make all the info and graphs also viewable when the phone is in horizontal position!!!! And maybe a solid black background would be a nice touch too. Everything else is excellent!

Fungerar alldeles utmärkt på dom första platserna.
Eftersom systemet växer med användarnas bistånd så blir det bättre hela tiden

Why pay for Speedbox? It doesn't work on iPhone 4! You get no speed and no altitude.... The only thing that works is the compass...

Speed box - very promising
Works well - the HUD is GREAT. Pretty accurate compared to my (quite good - SAAB) speedo, and my Tomtom GPS! Only problem - can't seem to turn the compass off!
I wish it could have a speedo set for lower speeds (max 60 - 100 kmh, or less) for practical and clear use for example on bicycles.
Any chance guys?

Förstår problemet med att mäta hastighet på iphone men denna var riktigt kass. Körde en halvmil och den hoppade mellan 40 och 80km/h.

Kul app!!
Testade idag och det fungera helt ok! Klart man inte ska lita blint på den, men dom 2 milen jag körde så stämde den ganska exakt! Den hoppade några kmh upp o ner ibland men mestadels så stämde den perfekt! Kul grej som jag kommer ta fram ofta! Gratis med!!!!

Bättre än inget!
Om man orkar vänta på att den ska hitta rätt och sluta hoppa vilt mellan olika hastigheter så är den helt ok. Jämförde med min "riktiga" navigator och fick mer eller mindre samma värde.
Dock är den ju ful som stryk och saknar helt iphonish design och finesse. Men en trea för att den faktiskt funkar och är gratis!

Håller med jultomten...
Snygg applikation men den är för oexakt för att vara användbart. Mätningarna svänger och varierar för mycket för att gå att lita på (ena stunden är det 40 km/h i nästa 80 km/h). Detta beror inte på hårdvaran. Jag har provat en annan liknande applikation som var mycket exaktare. Kan inte rekommendera Speedbox trots att den är gratis

I can't get a proper reading even with high accuracy, it keeps jumping between a very low and a very high value...
